Landscapes of Fishing

The Landscapes of Fishing is a stunning collection of images by internationally renowned photo-journalist Vince Bevan. The photographs portray the richness and diversity of inshore fishing in the four countries bordering the Southern North Sea and the English Channel: France, England, Belgium and the Netherlands. These photographs offer a poignant reminder of an industry struggling to survive against a backdrop of strict regulation and quota restrictions. Regardless of all its current challenges, this historic profession continues to contribute to the character and identity of coastal communities across Europe, for the benefit of residents and tourists alike. A selection of these images was exhibited at the National Maritime Museum Cornwall (UK), the Oostende Library (Belgium) and De Drvkkery (Netherlands) in 2014.
